Hey it's me Ellie! I'm back (from Disneyland) with the blog! Today we did bell ringer, pledge, and a moment of silence. Of course we started work cycle. Next we had a GAC lesson (Grace and Courtesy). Then we went to Rench, but some of us stayed in to film a little more of our movie. After, we did read aloud and went to science we did jobs. Next, we had PE with our reading buddies. Of course, we went home. Bye!!

Blog!

Hi! It's me Ellie again! I'm back with our classroom blog! Here is what we did today!

First we did our bell ringer, then we did the pledge. Also, we go to do two Just Dance songs! Bonus! After we started our three hour work cycle. Next, we got a little preview tour of the book fair! By the way it is opened all next week! Yay for books! Of course we did some state practicing! Then we went to rench (recess and lunch). Read aloud was next for 20 minutes. Then we went to Science. After we did a deep clean and went outside on the playground. That's what we did today! Bye!

Hi! Welcome back to Ms. Alisha's Class blog! It's me Ellie again!

Today we started out with our daily Bell Ringer! Next we said the pledge and did our workout! Then we silently started the three hour work cycle. Next we went to Rench! (Recess and Lunch put together) Then we did read-a-loud for 20 mins. We're reading Holes! Next we did a G.A.C. Lesson (Grace and Courtesy). We all showed our own skits! We started jobs next and went home. Bye!

Hello! My name is Ellie! This week I will be your blogger! I will be telling you what our class does every day!

Today, we started out with our daily bell ringer, then stretches and of course the pledge. After we started our three hour work cycle. After we went to Rench (recess and lunch). Next we did rotations. That is where 4th graders go to the library, 5th do literature circle, 6th Utah Compose. Then we switch. After that we did jobs which what I am doing now. Of course we go home next.

Today we were making a movie. It was fun. We did not finish it. We tried to get people but no one came. The movie is called pi 4 we did pi 3,pi 2,and pi 1.

Yesterday we went to the museum of natural curiosity. We went in a black hole and we tried to get out.We also went in a maze.

Today, we learned about diseases that the Englishman brought to America and killed ninety percent of the Native Americans. It is very sad. Some of the diseases were the black plague, small pox, and other diseases.

2015 NEW SCHOOL YEAR

Native Americans planted corn years ago. They used fish as fertilizer. We just used Miracle Grow. Their corn was different colors besides yellow. It was purple, red, orange, and many other colors. Today, we planted some Indian Corn.

Update 5/28

Today, the class had an assembly put on by the Children's Museum in SLC. They did a bunch of experiments and then let the students do some hands on work. The students were able to try mixing various liquids and solids and record the reactions. The students really seemed to enjoy it, except wearing the safety goggles. The class also did the work cycle for a shorter time. After lunch and recess, we did our class read aloud and learned about sculpture during the Renaissance by artists such as Ghiberti and Michelangelo. The students were then able to create their own sculptures using soap, a plastic knife, and a toothpick. Their work was very creative, and pictures of their masterpieces will soon be uploaded! There was everything from a heart to a Minecraft villager to a car, and I don't think our classroom tables have ever been so clean!

Many of the students are excited for the last week of school before Summer! Some of the plans include: a field day of fun and activities outside, a day of traveling troupes where each upper elementary class will have a chance to perform their groups readers theater, and a deep classroom clean. Just as a reminder, all of the students' belongings should be taken home on Thursday after school and nothing should be brought in on Friday. Anything in the cubbies on Friday afternoon will be considered a generous donation to the nearby homeless shelter.

Friday the students will also be having a yearbook "party", if your student does not have a yearbook, feel free to have them bring in a plain shirt or book to have their friends to sign. Next Friday is also a free dress day and one of the three school days that treats are allowed. Students may bring in any sweet to share with the class, but if they have treats/gifts for only a few friends please remind them to give them out after school. All the summer birthdays with be celebrated that day as well, so if you would like to send a few photos or a poster about your kiddo, you are more than welcome to do so.

Today we did a art project for Mis. Autam.and we did work cicle,recess,lunch,and we had a lock down drill.

Today we did the work cycle and then we had end of year math tests, and we are finishing them tomorrow because some people have not finished them. While we were doing attendance we talked about, what we did last weekend.

today we did our 3 hour work cycle like usual and then after that we had a fun activity today. after lunch/recces we did a math rotation with 6 rotations, what we did was math flash cards, war with cards, fractions, ratios, and Ect. then we did our jobs at 2:55 and then we got ready and left for the day at 3:10!!!

Today for stretches we ran a lap around the field. Then we said the pledge and started workcycle. A project that we are doing is, we are dressing up as a lady who changed the world and a partner is interviewing us. After workcycle we had recess then we ate lunch outside. After lunch there was an assembly about pollinating and what pollinaters are. After that we had community meeting and found out who the student leaders are. Then we did a deep clean and went home!

For lunch we had mini corndogs. After lunch, we did math games, there were five stations and Marian, Daisy, Lydia, Tim, and Caleb led  the stations. Last, we did restoration and went home!

After work cycle we went to library and we learned about poems, and we got to look for books. Next, we went to rench (recess and lunch) and for lunch we could choose bean burritos, sandwiches, or salads. After lunch we worked on our upcycling projects. Then, we did reading buddies with Ms. Emily's class. After that we did restoration and went home!

     Today on tuesday the weather was a little too windy with lots of clouds surounding the sky, but lets get to the work-cicle we diid a full hour and for snack we had wonderful popcorn with maby some salt. Ms. Alisha did a fun activity today and she brout a jellow brain to have us use plastice nifes to cut it into the four loabs that we have been talking about as a class. Recess was still windy and for lunch we had glassed ham. After lunch Ms. Alisha read to the class the second book of the Sisters Grimm for ten minuts till science started. When it was time to go to science we got are note books and pencels and went to are scince classes. After we left to do reading budddies in ms. Emilis class. at the end of the day we wraped up by cliniing up the classroom and made it spottless.

This week we did the work cycle and learned about the brain. It has four lobes and a stem. Then we did activities on the brain, like what it would be like to have a brain injury. Some of the things we did in the activities were tracing a star by reflection, smashing a jar of jello that was the brain, blind touching in rice, obstacle course, and we tried to find the spy. Amelia was pretty good at putting a shirt on with one hand. We did our community meeting and Haiden was president. Chase became a student leader and we made snack table tickets for snack time. In Science we looked at dead animals ms Alisha said she got from the road. They were stuffed and we got to touch them all. It was GROSSSSSS!!!! Today we did our Math.

April 6th-10th

Hey all this is Conner and Haiden!
We did an egg drop it was fun. It was about inertia. We did a fun thing Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday was electric fence, Thursday we put together cops, robbers, capture the flag and dodgeball altogether. Some of the kids got confused so we just did dodgeball and capture the flag. Chase, Dallin, Me (conner) and Me (Haiden) made up the game. We made brain hats. We did the 3 hour work cycle every day.

Today we wrote a letter to Ms. Terra, and Dallin did a pi theme escape house which was fun, and AMAZING!!!!! Chase took pictures of the class. Ms. Alisha  favorite second color is blue. We are an AWESOME CLASS! And Ms Alisha is an AWESOME TEACHER! the kids in our class are people that are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today we had an opera assembly and listened to some opera singers preform in a game show style. They were really talented and the winner won by 30 points. The rest of the day was pretty normal other then that we had an extra recess. For dismissal Ms. Alisha gave us words and if we knew the definition we could go home.

Today was the first day that we stated the the school week on a Tuesday in 2015! Woo! SO down to business today we started the point work cycle and it worked better! I mean there was a sense of no stress! And we talked about bystander with bullies, because there apparently TONS of bullies in the USA! Yolo is all I have to say because there always be bullies/ bad friends in the US and deal with it! Has the government heard people can block/mute people online! Also today we had science!!!! For the first time in forever... and 6th grade had a sub. That about it nothing really happen BUT these girls omg (G = gosh) There so mean!!! But not in a bully way like the I will not listen to you noob! but BYE!!

                      things going on around the school: the valentines day party is this friday! Get you're boxes and valentines ready. the school is having a free dress day on friday be sure to bring you're tickets home and get them signed.
